Jean-Luc Bouchard and Anjali Patel BuzzFeed News It's a show that will have your feelings violently oscillating between emotional exhaustion and overwhelming exultation for the well-placed humor and the well-deserved triumphs. May 2, 2019 Full Review Rafael Sánchez Casademont Fotogramas A tragedy full of hope that, as you will see, you won't reach episode 10 without shedding a tear. [Full review in Spanish] May 1, 2024 Full Review Petrana Radulovic Polygon It only took a few episodes before I became totally hooked. May 11, 2021 Full Review Patrick Gill Polygon FMA: Brotherhood does an outstanding job balancing incredibly dark plot points and painful moments with tons of silliness and genuine warmth. It's nice. Aug 4, 2020 Full Review Panos Kotzathanasis Asian Movie Pulse Starting with the basis of the tormented brothers, the title extends it to an intricate script of unprecedented depth, which stretches as far as possible, without, though, losing its quality and the captivating entertainment it offers, even for a minute. Dec 2, 2019 Full Review Allyson Johnson The Young Folks It is wonderfully engaging on every level: its sublime action, touching character growth, and philosophical queries all add up to a show that's one of the best of its kind. O&R m Masterpiece. There is no boring episode. The pacing is brilliant, as well as the action, animation and characters. It's just perfect. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 05/06/25 Full Review Logan H This is one of the best animes I've ever had the privilege to watch. The Plot, characters, style, humor and philosophic nature are all arguable the best there is to offer viewers. The plot stays interesting the whole way through and makes very natural moves from getting Al's body back to uncovering a plan to consume the souls of an entire country for more power than one could ever need, what makes it so natural is going from the mystery of if it's possible to get Al's body and once it's confirmed to be possible, uncovering the power needed to do so leads directly into how other's have obtained such power at the cost of thousands of souls, brilliant. The characters are all likeable, even the enemies and overly complex, there isn't a time in this show where I didn't understand where a character was coming from even if I disagreed with their actions. Also, the main trio, Ed, AL and Winry are definitely a worthy highlight, natural chemistry between all and reasonable conflict, the ending with Ed and Winry made me shed tears very beautiful. The style looks great throughout and shines in fights scenes where Ed fights one of the big bads of the show I couldn't take my eyes off the screen and I wouldn't have wanted to. Humor really solid made me have a few genuine laughs and that's good enough. The philosophy in the show feels intelligent and makes you think, crazy to think a show from even just 10-15 years ago is written with more intrigue than most media now and I really appreciated that. Roy Mustang and Riza Hawkeye being not only willing participants in genocide but leaders in the violence and then putting everything they have on the line to atone for their sins regardless if their actions can never be taken back or forgiven from their victims to ease their guilt is brilliant. My last point is the missing point from 9/10 is due to a bloated cast in the final 20 episodes made me care less about each individual character just a little less and there are somewhat major plot points that are seemly left unconcluded, such as a conversations between Roy and Riza I believe where they mentioned once in power the military dictatorship would come to and end and a democracy would be installed however at the end credits it's implied that the military dictatorship would continue just under new leadership however it's possible i missed something. Overall this is an amazing anime and i found myself binging the show after being able to hold off on probably the last 5 shows in comparison. a MUST WATCH Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 04/08/25 Full Review Audience Member I liked the characters, the world, and the music, but the plot itself didn't interest me much. I felt sleepy in several episodes, some moments are quite boring, like when they go to the snow country. The past of Father Homunculu and Eric's father seem very generic. But it's still an OK show. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/25/25 Full Review Burat S I didn't like almost anything in the anime, the characters' faces are very strange, and there are also several references to the occult. How do they draw those strange circles so quickly? The dubbing from my country is also bad, I expected a much better experience. I think you enjoy the anime more if you focus more on the fights, but I didn't even think that was good. Maybe I'll watch it again in the future and like it, but not now. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 02/25/25 Full Review Audience Member The best Anime ive ever seen for now! It has the vibes of Avatar The Last Airbenden but with more violence haha great Story very emotinal strong characters and a good soundtrack. 5☆☆☆☆☆ Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/16/25 Full Review Audience Member Great show. Compared to the original anime, this is much more hopeful which I prefer. The ending was great and just leaves you wanting more, to be honest. That would be cool if they made more… But, one thing I kind of wish was different are the homonculi. They seemed a bit more one-dimensional than the original but it’s not so bad that it ruins the show. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 04/20/24 Full Review Read all reviews
