We are now under 12 hours out from the launch of Switch 2 pre-orders and it’s going to be a total free-for-all in quite potentially the worst way possible. Will there even be close to enough Switch 2 units to go around tonight? Probably not. Will everyone who actually goes to pre-order one at midnight tonight actually get one? Almost certainly not. But while everyone is refreshing like ravenous dog at Best Buy, Target, and Walmart, there are some other sources of Switch 2 pre-orders to consider if you don’t have any luck later tonight.
Anywhere else to pre-order Switch 2 other than Best Buy, Target, and Walmart?

Nintendo already officially confirmed that it’s not even close to being able to fulfill the 2.2 million pre-order requests it got in Japan on the My Nintendo Store. And while the U.S. – Nintendo’s biggest market by a long shot – certainly isn’t Japan, and it likely alotted a whole heck of a lot more units stateside than it did anywhere else in the world, just about no one thinks it’s going to be easy to get one tonight – those horrible reseller bots and scalpers included.

While only time will tell how difficult it’s actually going to be to secure a Switch 2 pre-order this evening, as Walmart, Target, and Best Buy have all officially confirmed pre-orders will begin at 12 a.m. ET, not all is lost if you don’t manage to score one.
If history is any indication, there will likely be re-stocks at all of the aforementioned major retailers, chances are Amazon will throw its hat into the ring at some point or other even if its stock is just as limited as the rest, and there are other online retailers out there folks.
Ever heard of Costco, Newegg, Kohl’s, Sam’s Club, ABT Electronics, and Dell?
Where to get a Switch 2 after pre-orders sell out?
As we mentioned above, if it looks as though pre-orders have sold out at the big three later tonight, that does not mean they are gone for good. We will be tracking these listings constantly over the next 24 hours and beyond and updating our X feed every time they come back in-stock. But there are other retails that might very well have Switch 2 pre-orders up for grabs later tonight, tomorrow, and even after that too.
The aforementioned retailers sell Switch 1 and the bundles for it now, and we are expecting to see listings go live at many of them…we just aren’t sure when. So while we don’t yet know exactly when this might happen. There is a very high chance we do see listings pop up elsewhere.
In fact, there are already Switch 2 and Switch 2 Mario Kart World bundle listings ready to go at Sam’s Club and Newegg right now.
While we don’t have live placeholders listings from the other retailers just yet, they are likely to come available in the near future.
All of that said, the big three are ready to go (with GameStop following along later tomorrow morning online at 11 a.m. ET), and you’ll at the very least want to try your hand there first later this evening:
