Back in early January LEGO and Nintendo quickly teased an upcoming LEGO Game Boy set and it has now been officially revealed. Carrying a $59.99 list price, pre-orders are now open directly from LEGO ahead of release this fall. Head below for more details and officially imagery.
First official look at the new LEGO Game Boy set
You are finally getting the very first official look at the new LEGO Game Boy build. Consisting of 421 pieces, this is a 1:1 scale replica of the retro Nintendo handheld in gorgeous brick built form.
Lenticular screens, press-able D-Pad, select, start, and A and B face buttons are in place here. You’ll also find what LEGO calls included brick-built Game Paks that can be inserted into the back of the machine. It ships with interchangeable, brick-built The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening and Super Mario Land Game Boy Game Paks alongside the option to showcase your LEGO Game Boy model with your choice of screens on the main display –the classic Nintendo start screen or something from either of the interchangeable Game Paks that come with the set.
At a scale of near 1:1, the LEGO Game Boy model building kit is a testament to a classic era in gaming and with authentic details and much-loved features is a nostalgic throwback to the classic system.
Pre-orders are now live on Amazon at $59.99 shipped and over at Walmart as well.
It turns out that leak way back in February wasn’t entirely wrong. Install leakers suggests a $70 price before additional insiders weighed in saying it would less. Those leakers also got the exact date correct as well as the piece count too.
