Late last night LEGO finally unleashed what many would describe as one of the more anticipated sets of the year – the official LEGO Game Boy. There are more than a few particularly sought-after sets that have already released and are still inbound, but with Switch 2 out in the wild now, and Nintendo hype still at a fever-pitch after record-breaking sales and the launch of Donkey Kong Bananza, it’s hard to deny just how sweet the new LEGO Nintendo handheld set is. But you better be quick with your pre-order on Amazon because it’s already sold out at LEGO.
Nintendo and LEGO teased the new set earlier this year with a short video showing off renders of floating A/B buttons and D-pads set to classic 8-bit chiptunes. After that, a particularly accurate leak predicted the exact price and piece count, but the real thing is finally here and if you’re looking to secure one you had better do it now while you still can.

The Amazon pre-order, as per usual, comes along with its patented pre-order price guarantee. This ensures you will pay the lowest price the item drops to before it releases (in this case) on October 1, 2025. But this thing isn’t going on sale anytime soon anyway (or ever). The real point here is that you actually get one without getting gouged in the secondary market because they are completely sold out.
This is a 412-piece set that lands on its included brick-built display stand with 1:1 ration to the real thing. It is also littered with authentic details as far as we can tell, from the purple-red A/B face buttons and black D-pad right through to the darker grey start/select buttons in between.
You’ll also find a cartridge slot around back where you can store the included The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening and Super Mario Land Game Boy Game Paks, but you’ll likely want to keep those on display.
One of the more interesting aspects of the build outside of the accuracy here is the lenticular display. The set includes some display sheets you can slide into the machine to show off the the classic Nintendo start screen or a game screen from the pack-in cartridges.
But again, at this point you’re better off just securing a pre-order before you start to read anything more about this sweet new official LEGO-Nintendo build.
