Dear SpiceHeads,
It’s been almost two months since our last communication about SpiceWorld , though no one needs a reminder, what an interesting two months it has been! We truly hope that you’re making your way through, finding support where you need it, and taking time to appreciate moments of joy and hope.
As we shared in March, safety remains our number one priority, and in order to ensure safety across the board for all involved in SpiceWorld, we have made the decision to transform SpiceWorld 2020 (Sept 15-17) into a free, virtual event this year.
This decision was not an easy one to make - we took into consideration many factors. We appreciate more than anything seeing everyone face-to-face at SpiceWorld and we know it’s equally important to all of you to have the opportunity to connect with each other in person, as well. But in light of current circumstances and the considerable ‘unknowns’, we believe offering the opportunity for everyone to connect through a free, virtual experience this year is the best path forward.
Above all, we appreciate that our Community that grew from online interaction will go back to its virtual roots with this new event experience. We look forward to delivering a virtual event in the spirit of the Community itself, filled with engaging conversations, genuine connections, great tech, and a little spice. We’re still building out the details and look forward to sharing more with you in the coming weeks.
If you have already paid for your SpiceWorld 2020 registration, you may choose to roll over your paid registration fee to SpiceWorld 2021 or receive a full refund. Our team will be reaching out with next steps on that very soon as well as more details regarding registration for the virtual event. We’ve compiled a list of FAQs here and will work to add more details when we have them in place.
On a personal note, a virtual SpiceWorld was certainly not on my radar when we initially began preparing for this year’s event back in 2019. That said, I’m excited about the connections that this new experience will bring as we open up the event to many who haven’t been able to join us in the past. I’m really looking forward to taking this journey with all of you!
