First post surprised I haven’t been here before!
I’m looking at password managers for teams and 1Password has a really good reputation but the sharing seems kind of… screwed up basically.
They appear to only let you share at vault level so if you’ve got a single cred that needs sharing with a single person outside your own team and you need another vault with that single cred in it.
That doesn’t make much sense so I wondered if anyone uses 1Password for Teams and knows any different?

Define team, what’s the need. (eg LAN, shared via internet, etc)
Big fan of http://keepass.info/ , that what I persoanlly and we use at work.
But sharing is a little clunky, so maybe look into LastPass

There’s like 6 of us maybe more if we have to bring in some people who aren’t directly in IT.
We tried KeePass and it’s OK but no mobile client and isn’t granular. LastPass is Logmein and they screwed me in a past role.

LastPass lets you create folders, and then you can share those folders with individuals. It is good for compartmentalizing access to credentials.
Thanks for recommending Dashlane, Chris!

I have been using 1Password for a long time, the vaults is the way to go. Once you have access to that vault they will have access to anything shared there, so that is why it works this way.

+1 for Dashlane. I’ve used KeePass at home, and considered it for work, but find it clunky in comparison to Dashlane. I think its best feature is you can keep the database out of the cloud. Never tried LastPass.

Welcome to the community. When you say outside of your team, do you mean outside of the company? Add Thycotic Secret Server to your list of products to look at. It has excellent controls for access and auditing.

For work I run a Secret Server on prem for myself and then a cloud version for the receptionist. Give them a look, depending on the amount of users and secrets you’re looking to secure their free offering will probably work for you.

Another vote for Secret Server from Thycotic.

LastPass. We use it here and have a shared folder with general passwords in it. We each can have our own account (even link a personal account) for our own individual passwords, then we can pick and choose specific passwords to put in the shared folder(s).

Been using LastPass. Sharing has worked great for us within departments.

Do you need browser integration?
If not, have look at SecureSafe - they offer support for teams including data rooms for sharing files.
I personally use SecureSafe and Sticky Password because of its great browser integration.
I’d like to keep away from browser plug-ins as that’s where most issues seem to be that I’ve read of.
Other than of course something secure are around mobility so mobile phones and the likes plus being sure we can export/backup our data ourselves so we’re not out of business should a provider have an issue.

Passpack works well for what you are trying to do. I don’t use it now, but did about two years ago.
If anyone’s interested from personal use I’m very impressed with 1password so I’m going to do a trial of the Teams product.
Read the security papers, they’re thorough.
