does anyone have a guide to renew ssl certificate to 3cx pbx system, their website instructions are driving everyone nuts here

Im following the second guide that first one feom 3cz is the one that doesnt make sense to us.

If you use a 3CX fqdn the update is automatic, you don’t have to do anything.

But when i create the certificate in godaddy for example is asking for a csr, i used the csr generator for 3cx and i cant get the cert working it said data invalid.

orestes_error.jpgguys i am sorry if i sound ignorant really, but as far as i know i need to enter a csr into the certificate to have it generated. every time we do i get this error, above.

Your life will be much easier if you change your fqdn to be one from 3cx - like yourcompany.3cx.us. You will not have to fool with CSRs or GoDaddy and your domain account for email, etc.

There are a few steps involved to do this.

I found a forum message that outlines it:

Please note that to change FQDN you will need to re-install the system. To do so:
Create a backup of the system without license and FQDN information
Un-install the PBX
Access the customer portal and release the key from the current FQDN
Re-install the system using the license key and your new (3cx created) FQDN.
Please note that you will need to also provide a certificate for your FQDN and that custom FQDNs can only be used with a PRO or Enterprise edition key.

is that a way to do it with out reinstalling the system? cause i cant bring that pbx down

So if I had a system that is so critical that in the entire 24/7 of a week you are not able to schedule 1 hour of downtime …

I would not go to git-hub to get documentation - I would go to the source meaning 3CX.

I would not go to Spiceworks for support I would got to the source 3cx

I would engage a professional like paid support from 3CX or a 3CX Partner/Advanced Certified Engineer.

I stand by my earlier recommendation that your life will be easier if you take my earlier recommendation.
