Hi everyone, we’ve discovered a handful of problems with the 7.5.00077 build. We want to prevent any more of you from being affected by these bugs (by upgrading to 7.5.00077), so we’re going to “roll back” the download link to 7.5.00074.
-
If you’re already on 7.5.00077, and are not experiencing any problems, you don’t need to do anything.
-
If you have problems with 7.5.00077, you can use the restore process to roll back to your previous version, and download Spiceworks again to upgrade to 7.5.00074.
You can check your version from the Settings page.
Once we’ve fixed the issues with the 7.5.00077 build, we will post another update (7.5.00077+).
These are the new bugs present in 7.5.00077 that we are working on fixing before we re-release:
- 78107 Ticket Dashboard blank
- 78228 “view not found” error on Ticket views
- 78220 Exchange send/receive failing with ExchangeMailer:Exception from Curl
- 78144 user portal custom ticket forms do not display after upgrade
- 78283 email invitation links do not render properly
- 78179 alerts links in top nav (bell icon) don’t redirect

78179 is the only one bugging me. Safe to stay on this version and just upgrade? It’s an annoyance but not really worth fixing for me.
What’s Spiceoworks?!?
Just kidding. Not seeing any of those issues here… yet.
Glad to see we weren’t the only ones having issues. I’m sure everything will be resolved fairly quickly.

Hey Jess,
We originally believed ****78283 email invitation links do not render properly was related to the 7.5.00077 release as we first received notifications of problems with it at the same time we saw all the other 7.5.00077 related issues. We have recently isolated that this is not related to 7.5.00077 but to a Community update rolled out late last night. The Dev Team is working to resolve this issue as quickly as possible too.
If you are running our most recent release, you can use this workaround:
- Have another existing Admin click on Settings > Help Desk > User Accounts
- Click on the pencil icon to edit the person you are trying to invite.
- Click the ‘Haven’t received email?’ link
- Click the Display Invite URL button
- Copy the Invite URL, and send it directly to the user you’re trying to invite.

My issue #75043 “FreeImage_Load, failed to open file” from 7.5.00074 build did not fixed yet
Hi guys, the email invitation issue (78283 email invitation links do not render properly) has been resolved - no update is necessary (it should be resolved for all versions of the app).
Yes, its safe to stay if you can wait for our rerelease with a fix.
This isn’t fixed yet - we hope to have this fixed soon (potentially in the 7.6 release).

Crap, the Exchange bug has emails piling up in our helpdesk account.
Burned by another bad update…

Some pretty decent bugs here, I’d be interested to know if they are all somehow related (e.g. if they are because of an app or something)
Sorry about the problems, Brian. We are investigating this one - right now we think it may be tied to our upgrade of OpenSSL. We may be able to get the rerelease out as early as tomorrow. Not firm on that yet. If you allow SMTP/IMAP you can switch over for the time being, or roll back. If you need help just let us know.
You should be ok unless you’re affected by one of the issues in the list - otherwise there are lots of bugs fixed that you may benefit from.
We’re here to help either of you aren’t sure - just email support@spiceworks.com.

You guys haven’t just employed someone from Microsoft?
Luckily I’m slow doing updates generally.

Just when I thought it was safe to go back in the water,
I ran into issue with the user portal in this release. All the content on our custom tabs disappeared. We had created alternate submission forms for certain kinds of requests and those custom forms were simply gone. Rolling back has fixed it.

is rolling back going to keep all tickets that were created since the upgrade?

That is one of the 6 issues that should be resolved when we re-release.
If you’ve been running the 00077 build for a while and already have tickets created I would recommend waiting it out for the rerelease. Rolling back to a backup restores your help desk data as it was when the backup was created, which means any changes to tickets or new tickets would be lost.

Our ticketing system is very active so rolling back was not an option for us. Biggest pain for us is with the emails not getting picked up by Spiceworks as we’re getting spanked trying to track things via email instead of the ticketing system.
I certainly hope this gets fixed quickly.
Ugh.
