It’s a new year, which always means a new opportunity to try and accomplish some goals! Personally, I like to set New Year’s Resolutions for the upcoming year. I don’t expect that I’ll 100% achieve every one of them, but if I can make forward progress, that’s all that matters.

For this Spiceworks-exclusive contest, we want to energize you to meet your goals, so we’re giving away your choice of a customized coffee or tea bundle from Trade or Sips By ! All you have to do to enter is comment below with some of your New Year’s Resolutions for 2023 by February 10th at 5pm CST.

My resolution this year is to not have a resolution. If you don’t set yourself up for failure, it’s harder to fail. Although I will likely fail at something this year, lol.

I have been keeping the same New Year’s Resolution since 2013 and it’s been incredible:

Do not have New Year’s Resolutions

Truly a game changer. I highly suggest it.

I am being honest, but for a more constructive answer, I will share that my wife and some of her sisters choose a “word” for the year instead of a resolution. It can be any word you want, maybe it’s what you want to see more of, be more of, do less of, etc. I like that idea much better than a resolution, but I admit I have yet to implement it.

To upgrade servers to release some unnecessary strain on our data base.

Also to release some pressure on my belt.

Break them like every year…

I recently got bumped to IT Support Engineer, so resolution is to figure out what that means exactly.

Also I can update my resume now since my previous title wasn’t exactly recognizable.

Same thing I do every year…try to take over the world!

Seriously, certs, get away for a week, build a woodworking workbench followed by an IT workbench and maybe some furniture. Nothing exciting.

Ironically enough my resolution is to drink less coffee and drink more green tea.

New Year’s resolution: increase my cyber security knowledge and learn more powershell!

I just made my resolutions last weekend. So it’s now legit.

Work: Take a couple SANS courses. Likely won’t have the time to follow through on that, even though it’s budgeted.

Personal: Pray more. My parents got me a two-tier altar for my house, so I’m basically obligated to do so. It’s actually nice to clear your mind and chant. I do it when I get home from work.

I posted this on another contest also. My resolution is to not make any resolutions, that way I will succeed.

My New Year’s Resolution is to not let my users get the best of me…

Drat. Busted again.

My New Year’s resolution is to not be snarky or vent or get frustra…

Busted.

My New Year’s Resolution is to lay off the sugar and caffei…

Ugh.

As I said in a previous post, my resolution is to become a licensed ham radio operator.

My resolution is to find a product that is better at drying user’s tears off my office floor.
