Hi, I’m Noel and have been working in IT support for xx years (lost count), new to SpiceWorks. I like climbing, pizza and beer, going off computers.<\/p>\n
This is my first post<\/p>\n Background to issue<\/strong>:<\/p>\n I’ve recently taken over as IT Tech in a school and need some kind of audit\\asset software. After reading around SpiceWorks seem to fit my needs (and its free - bonus).I downloaded the latest version and installed it on a VM. It turns out my predecessor who I’ve never met had the same plan. The software update to the latest version and backed up current data.<\/p>\n Issue:<\/strong><\/p>\n I was expecting to open Spiceworks and just be able to go with it, although I’m being prompted for credentials. I’ve tried my SpiceWork login but I’m guessing I need a local account to access the data. Unfortunately the previous IT staff have all left leaving very little in hand over details. I encourage you to add yourself to that installation as an administrator, and then you can remove the other administrators as needed.
