Hey there.
Basically, im running Spiceworks 5.0 with a 2008 R2 domain controller.
I have managed to configure AD to a point. I have imported all the users from AD, the user portal seems to work great… but I cannot write information back to AD cos it wont let me enable SSL. (Making password resets from Spiceworks not possible…)
I get this error.
An existing connection was forcibly closed by the remote host. - SSL_connect
I have no clue how to proceed. It seems my settings are good enough to get all the user information INTO spiceworks, so im assuming the login credentials, server address, DN for LDAP bind and base DN for LDAP search are correct.
(had to enable “Use principal name for email if blank in Active Directory”, as I dont have email addresses in the AD profiles.)
It just wont turn SSL on…
Oh, and i can only get it to perferm a full inventory of one of my IP ranges. I wonder if these two issues are connected somehow…
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks,
Dave

Check to make sure that a firewall is not blocking SSL LDAP from your SW server to the LDAP server. Can you log onto the SW machine and telnet to the LDAPS port (normally 636) on the LDAP server?
