i am new to this spice but what i have seen and done so far impresses me.<\/p>\n
what i want besides detailed machine info and application management is to be able to track costs associated with IT equipement and infrastructure.<\/p>\n
for example i want to be able to add the purchase date of a machine and the purchase price. also if applicable service contracts and their costs.<\/p>\n
can anybody inform me if this is at all posible within spiceworks? it is the only thing that is stopping me from deploying spiceworks in my network!<\/p>\n

This is completely possible, and already set up for you. In the Inventory sectiion there are fields for Purchase price and Purchase date for each item in you inventory.<\/p>\n

First I would like to welcome you to Spiceworks. I would not let something little like that stop you from deploying spiceworks in your network. You may not ba able to do exactly what you want, but I have found with spiceworks there are many way to work around any issue. There is probaly a better way, but this is my simple solution.<\/p>\n
on the inventory of the system you can add the purchase price and date. You can also have a service tag number. There is a notes field that you can keep track of your service/contract dates. Hope this helps.<\/p>\n

thanx for the quick reply. it is good to see that there is a lively community supporting spiceworks. this is definatly a good thing.<\/p>\n
i suppose that if i use/modify the available fields, it will also be possible to make a specific “end of year” rapport wich specifies what product were bought in a given year, purchase price and left over value?<\/p>\n
