Hi, I’m evaluating the UEB virtual appliance and was looking forward to the promise of a working agent push delivery in Version 7.

It still does not work, has anybody else had problems with this still?

This is usually what I get, although the message can vary:

"Windows installer encountered error 1625 during agent install"

  • The credentials used are domain admin on target server
  • Target servers firewall is OFF
  • File and Print sharing enabled

Any ideas?! It shouldn’t be this difficult!

I also get sometimes ‘cannot execute prereq scripts…’

Malcolm - Thank you for testing out our UEB & forbringing this to our attention. Have you contacted support about this issue yet? If not, can you forward over your asset tag number and contact details so that I can have a member of support and development take a look at your UEB installation?

Hi Katie, thanks for your quick response.

Haven’t raised with support yet. Where do I find the asset tag number?

Great - I’m happy to help. I believe that that is a Trial version, which includes support, so I’ve requested that they contact you to assist. Thank you for PM’ing me your details. I hope we can get this resolved quickly for you.

Malcom

Let us know how it goes or if you need help with anything else.

Having same issue, PM’ed you Katie. Malcolm, did you get this resolved?

Thanks for the PM Chad - be on the lookout for a call or email from our support team.

Sorry about possible thread hijacking but my issue was easily resolved over the phone. There is an issue pushing the agent to the same server that the UEB guest is running from. Connecting to \UEBSERVERIP\windows_agents gives you access to the agent which can then be manually installed. Worked fine after that.

My support tech said that this issue is unique to a HperV UEB trying to push the agent to its own host.

Thanks for the update Chad! Glad to hear that you’re up and running again!

I successfully ran the install from the \UEBSERVERIP\windows_agents folder but seem to be missing a step required to register it with server as a new client. Is there a client side configuration that tells it who to publish itself to ?

It seems to be have the same results from my Virtual 2008r2 server and a test Win7 Laptop.

You would be better off starting your own thread for this, but basically under setting go to clients & add a new client then enter the details for the server you have installed the agent on. This is all covered in the Admin Guide .
