I keep getting alerts saying I have more than one antiVirus installed on some of my machines. They all have only one - McAfee. Why is it seeing more than one and how can I correct it.

You can go to Settings → Monitors & Alerts and turn off that notification.

Or, you can find the computers that are triggering the alert, and triple check that there is nothing else on it (a user might have installed Microsoft Security Essentials or something similar).

EDIT: You can also run the built in report of “Computers with Antivirus”, and it should be pretty easy to pick out if some have something besides McAfee!

Thanks, I checked all 12 of them and no problems. So I think I will just cut it off if it’s going to be a pain.

There could be excess entries in the registry (use CCleaner to help with that), or there could be old information in the WMI repository (see this How To for more info: http://community.spiceworks.com/how_to/show/2031).

Ok I get this message that I have more than one antivirus on my computer and I get to step 4 and only have one antivirus product listed… Which is my AVG that is currently installed. Spiceworks is telling me that this is not true and I have more than one AV installed. Can anyone explain this?

P.S. This is a fresh insalled machine of windows 7 service pack 1

Spiceworks scans both the registry and the WMI repository for Anti-virus information. How is Spiceworks showing more than one AV installed? If AVG registers itself with one name in the registry but a different name through WMI, Spiceworks could see them as two different AV products. If you think that is the case, I would suggest contacting Spiceworks support directly at support@spiceworks.com and let them take a look through your logfiles.
