This week we are rolling out new features in the on-premises version of Help Desk. All of them are designed to improve how you get notified about tickets from your users. Of course, it has always been faster than Leia and her R2-D2 snail mail, but now its even better than ever with new browser notifications and improved emails.
Browser Notifications
When your users create new tickets or have updates, you want to know right away. New browser notifications immediately alert you, so that you can resolve their issues quickly.
Upgraded Emails
75% of the IT pros using the Spiceworks Help Desk use email to keep track of new and updated tickets. So we upgraded these emails to make them easier to read and more useful to you, too. We’ve included a new “Reply Now” button to make responding to users that much less of a hassle.
Bug Fixes
As always, this release includes several bug fixes. Check out the Release Notes for more details.
Try out the new features and let us know what you think.
Upgrade now!

the browser notifications should be good, are they time limited or do they stay till dismissed (or is this configurable?)
Lord have mercy, new upgrades! I’ll be going through the bug fixes to see what’s been addressed this time around. Appreciate the service as always!! Can I say that if they ever allow us to marry a website, I will be putting in my application to marry Spiceworks @_@
Great feature! Good job!!!
I do feel the redesign of emails should help some users…I know I have many coworkers that get overwhelmed with textural information and just ignore it.
I have literally had to go and add buttons to 3rd party open source apps that had text links…
The bug fixes are the main benefit with this release!!! HP Warranty check is back in action and ManageEngine AD Plus integration could be a huge benefit to many out there!
Thank you as always!!!
Desktop notifications should be very useful.

I just had to move our installation to another machine and updated at the same time. I really like the new reply button feature on the ticket emails.

The upgrade now button goes to the hosted helpdesk not to the download for the on premise helpdesk.
Anyone else getting redirected to this when trying to download the latest?
“This page can’t be displayed www.spiceworks.comdownload is correct”
Is that link bad in the previous version of the app or is that SW backend?
We were starting to get overwrites of devices with serial/MAC values already entered so this will be a big help.
NM, it’s broken here too: https://www.spiceworks.com/downloads/
Will just have to postpone the update.
I’m getting the same error here as well.
looks like they fixed it.
just need to put the ‘/’ in

They are time limited depending on the browser (4 seconds for Firefox and Safari, 10 for Chrome). They aren’t configurable.

Link should be fixed. Thanks!
Are you guys using Node.JS with Toaster? If yes, is the template open to be customized?
