Hello,

I am new to this community, so bare with me. I normally use Kaspersky Security for my Server systems and its been a while since I needed to renew/purchase again. Is Kaspersky the “better” choice or is there another product that has a good price point and is good. Any thoughts would be helpful.

Thanks

Mike

We’re moving away from Kaspersky. It’s been nothing but an administrative nightmare. We’ve gone with ESET and the administrative overhead has dropped dramatically not to mention all the bugs and issues we’ve had with Kaspersky.

I have to +1 ESET. It’s highly effective and uses a very small footprint of system resources ESPECIALLY ON STARTUP which is where you see other “good” av’s tend to be a hindrance. It also offers very powerful configuration options. It will blow your mind. I can’t recommend it enough.

Our clients have been very happy with F-Secure for both workstations and servers.

My vote is for Kaspersky. I have used it for a few years now, probably closer to 4 years on both servers and desktops. Dumped Symantec Endpoint Security a few years ago and went with Kaspersky Enterprise Space Security. Never looked back. It has been rock solid and easy to manage. I have recently migrated to Kaspersky Endpoint Security Select and have been impressed. The product gets better with each incarnation. Is it perfect? NO, but it is very good. Have there been issues? YES a few, but nothing that couldn’t be dealt with.

If you are looking to move off Kaspersky, then I will put in a shout for Vipre. I have heard good things and I have peers that use it and love it.

We just implemented Vipre and have been extremely happy with the results. The agents are very efficient, the patch management built into the clients work very well. I highly recommend at least trying it.

Have been using kaspersky for the past two years and i’m quite happy with it.

I have been using Eset on my network and configured to pull from a mirror folder on my network. Not only does this saves bandwidth but it is also quite effective on CPU usage against the other top brands.

I would recommend Eset.

If you run some Hyper-V on your server, there is also a great option of securing your host AND your virtual machines with a single license via agentless antivirus, this is very cost effective - check this option out.

Trend Micro Worry Free Services is the solution I use for the deployment with my clients, it´s very straightforward and the web console to control all the deployed products is really useful, not to mention that I have had no outages caused by virus, trojans, worms, etc…

There is a free trial for that product so I suggest you to try it out. Regards.

We had Kaspersky … Due to Several issues ( like eating lots of RAM , Update Issues ) Changed to Microsoft Security Essentials … I Should say it’s doing really a great job … It even detected which couldnt be detected by kaspersky …

Yes this might not be the best Anti-Virus , But What i do is … I use Essentials and Scan with Microsoft Safety Scanner Every week … to make sure everything is alright …

I use VIPRE Business anti virus software and it works great! It also has an administrative console wherein you can manage/deploy agents to all the computers on the domain. Its a good product and i am very satisfied and also the support is great !
