This is a dead end, a lost cause. I realize now I was hired to fill a chair for a role that only exist because other members of the department don’t want to do that task that I do, they feel it i below them. When the truth is, for the sake of productivity, they should be doing these task and they would accomplish them in a fraction of the time.

There is a need for a role similar that insures continuity of the end product and performs R&D on new products and solutions. that will never happen, I have no pull, my boss has no vision, and frankly i am still underpaid. I also miss IT, this was supposed to be a new challenge, it is not. I support Windows XP, and attempt to read programmers minds. I am told to ask questions, and then made to feel stupid when I ask.

I would love the opportunity to make something of this role, but i will never get that chance.

I have been out the loop for a while, so random question time. Server or desktop? I see windows, any nix experience? Other major disciplines such as network, storage, VM, etc? So you work through headhunters or direct only? Do you want me to forward your info to the better agencies here in town? Call up Robert Lowery and see if Layeredtech is still hiring.
