Just moved back to KCMO monday and the job results on indeed, monster, Craigslist are running slim. So im looking for a helpdesk or desktop support. have 1 year professional experience with an IT consulting company and did pretty much anything and everything.

Any and all options considered thank you in advance.

1 Spice up

We were looking to move up there from Central KS a year ago. Wife and i both sent out resumes and linkedin connections for 3 months solid. I got one call back and it was a “There will be 300 other applicants there that day, good luck.” and my wife got one that was for a sales position, nothing even connected to IT.

Good luck, but even the pay range wasn’t that great. Same range as here with more cost of living, out there you will probably do better in phones sales, my Brother in law does it now and makes damn good money.

There is a lot of competition in this market. But if you want to find something look on linkedin, and the other job sites. Last I heard is TEKsystems, Hallmark, Lexmark, Umbrella Managed Systems, Insight Global and many more are looking. You can also see some stuff go through twitter.

Adam, wish I knew you were wanting to move up here! I have tons of headhunter contacts/consulting companies that I have had great luck with! I have been on contract with at least 4 different companies, with great pay in the last 2 years and finally came back to my old employer with his new company. We may be hiring a helpdesk person in the next 3 months or so (I wish sooner). If anyone wants some contacts to find jobs, Start here: Tell them I sent you.

I agree with Bob Beatty, there are numerous IT Staffing Agencies in Kansas City you can look into.

In addition to the ones that Bob listed above, you can check out TekSystems, KForce, MegaForce and AdvantageTech just to name a few.

Also, be sure to post your resume on CareerBuilder.com since that is probably the most used site by the recruiters.

Hope this helps.
