I’m actually based in Joplin, but visit Tulsa frequently for business. Would anyone be interested in having a meet up to discuss Spiceworks, IT, etc? This group has 500 members, so surely we could put some kind of event together. If you’re interested, chime in. We could try to have the first meeting in February or March.

BTW, I’ll probably bring the other spiceworks member from Joplin, since we’re in the same office. We’ve already got 2 people on board! Let’s do this!

Sounds like we might be getting something together here. I recruited a friend of mine in Tulsa to Spiceworks, so I’m sure he would be interested. That’s 7 people so far. I think we would want to get to at least 10 commits before we tried to have a meeting. Maybe we should just schedule something and see what happens?

I know December is crazy for everyone (at least for those of us in the retail sector). What if we scheduled a meeting in January? I’m thinking something in the latter half of the month, probably during a weeknight (maybe Tuesday or Thursday?). Thoughts?

December would be out of the question for me. I have a lot of projects I am working on currently that are taking precedence. However, later in January would probably work.

January works for me. Let’s try and figure out an exact time, date and location. Would you all rather meet on a weekday or a weekday evening? Or would a weekend meeting work better for most of you? We can hammer down the details later but getting a date is paramount. We have been talking about this for almost a year. :slight_smile:

Having participated in other meetings on Thursday evening, it might be difficult to find a meeting room at a place that serves alcohol (which isn’t a requirement, but who doesn’t like beer?). I was thinking that we could meet someplace downtown, however, if everyone is on one side of town, it might be easier to meet over there. As for prospective dates, I was thinking 1/18, 1/20, 1/25, or 1/27. I would prefer an evening meeting time, since I will be coming from Joplin.

Thoughts?

Alright, I think we’ve got something here. I talked to Hideaway Pizza at 81st & Harvard, and they have a room that can hold 35 people. I say we do it there on Tuesday Feb 1 at 7PM. Thoughts?

If I get a few hits on this quick, I’ll reserve the room and get it all going by the end of the week.
