What’s your setup? What kind of computer do you use? How do you get I.T. done?
I’ll go first! I run an HP EliteBook 840 G6 (Core i7, 16GB, 512GB SSD) in my office, which usually stays there. I prefer to carry a 13 Apple MacBook Pro for most things. I’ve found that I prefer it and it’s simplicity; typically, we are working on hundreds of Windows machines and finding it a nice getaway to use a different OS. We do a lot of internal management, testing, reporting, etc., that requires me to use a Windows machine still, but I like having both. Is this odd, or are there others that do this?
Looking forward to hearing from the rest of you. Thanks!

Dell XPS 7590 i9 Gen 9, 32GB mem, 2TB SSD, pair of 22" monitors set-up like Mickey Mouse ears basically, a ring light over top of them as most of what I do is remote anyway, so there’s a lot of Zoom/Teams/etc meetings going on, along with plenty of documentation. Yeah, definitely overkill for what I do - lol. I’m currently working in an advisement role dealing with DoD contractors and getting them prepared for the DoD Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) and NIST 800-171 and 800-53 requirements (CMMC is basically an extension of those two NIST requirements)
Edit: forgot to mention NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 w/4GB mem, so my laptop display CAN do 4K, but then I can’t even read it with a magnifying glass - lol. So, it’s set, along with my 2 monitors are 1080p. Also have everything tied in with a Wavlink DisplayLink with dual 4K outputs in case I ever get microscopic replacement glasses
Btw, this is my gaming machine too, so, there’s why I pimped this thing out, not to mention I was paying for it

Lenovo ThinkPad P53, decked out. A dock at home and the office with full setups in both locations. I work on a lot of non-web based infrastructure projects and find Windows programs to be more plentiful in my current position.
Personally, macOS/Windows/Linux, it depends on the position I’m employed for which dictates my daily driver and what makes the most sense at the time.

I use a Dell Latitude D630. 2 GB RAM with 64GB SSD (added in later) running win10 Enterprise.
No comments of Macs. These machines were so fast using RISC…super impressive graphics processing. Nowadays, more of a marketing than performance.

How well is Windows 10 Enterprise working on that model with just 2 GB of RAM as Microsoft specifiec a minimum of 4 GB?
I use a HP 450 G5 with 16 GB of RAM and 256 GB SSD. When mixing OS, I prefer mixing Windows with Linux. I have such a mix. It is much more than a decade back when I had last to manage Apple devices.

Just an HP Elitebook at home - but I remote into a Desktop PC in the office (the laptop is only since we’ve started remote working)
TBH, makes little difference as I have access to PCs and servers to do what I need. I just need the interface.

Just been blessed with an upgrade to a Dell Inspiron 7400, Core i7 11th gen, 16GB RAM, 512GB SSD, Nvidia GeForce MX350.
Before November 2020 I was using a HP ProBook 6570b, Core i5 3rd Gen, 8GB RAM (upgraded from 4GB), 500GB HDD.
The gap between these 2 systems was huge. I’m definitely a more productive and response worker with the new kit.

Just bought myself a new Macbook Pro with the M1 chip. So far it’s the best laptop I’ve ever used. This will be replacing the PC that work have provided me, which is an i5, 8gb, 256gb SSD HP Windows machine.

Waiting to replace my HP ProBook 640 G1 (i5 8GB) daily driver with an HP ZBook Studio x360 G5 (i9 32GB P2000 1TB and Dreamcolor 4K). But it’s hard to get now during COVID-19. Waiting allready for 10 weeks…
Oh yeah, I hooked up a Samsung 49" ultrawide screen (replacement of 2x 27")

Right now I’m on a Dell Latitude 7390 2-in-1 with a broken keyboard and one of the two USB-C-ports borked. It’s an eirloom since we hit the fun combo of low availability on new PC’s and a user had more use of the Latitude 7490 I had than I do. We’re replacing a HP ZBook 15u for one of our CAD-guys once his new box comes in, at which point his old will be my new one. Completely overkill, but eh, why not.
I could do fine with a desktop-comp as well. I do all my admin-tasks on a VM anyway, and my personal workbox is basically just for Outlook/Word/Excel, Spotify and webbrowsing.

All of my staff run old Dell 5500s with 16GB and dual CPUs and a 4-monitor Nvidia card. Small SSD for the primary and 1TB winchester for the secondary.
That way, when people complain about their slow PCs, I offer to trade and they stop whining.

Macbook Pro 13" 10th gen is my weapon of choice at home…
For work:
A Chromebook is what I use most frequently these days when I’m doing O365 stuff and hours of virtual meetings every day.
I have to use a Win laptop 10 to connect to the client network. A good bit of of what I do there is via ssh to CoreOS and RHEL Linux systems so it is sort of a mixed bag. (The less I have to use Windows, the better!).

Dell XPS 13 9343 from 2015. i5, 8 gb ram, 256 gb ssd, intel graphics.
I have a new xps 13 on order that should be here in a week or 2 with an i7, 16 gb of ram and a 512gb nvme. I wanted to stick with the i5 but that maxed out at 8gb of ram and while that is fine right now the reality is I will likely be using it for 5/6 years. This machine will be wiped and issued to someone else when I get my new one as physically it is not far off ‘like new’ condition.

I got that 3 years ago so I’m due for a new one. Keys are falling off left and right. One of the fans has died so it runs hot and loud all the time. Waiting for the new RTX 3000 series laptops to come out.

Pretty much the same thing that everyone else uses, though I do have larger monitors. Dell Optiplex 3060 8 GB ram, SSD…does the job. At home…that’s a whole 'nother story.

Some sort of HP Elitebook. Same as we give all of the users. The display is 1080p, but the backlighting is pure crap. You cannot use this thing outside unless you are in the shade. Using with a dock and a pair of Dell 22" monitors + the laptop screen - considering a 4th - maybe a small one to position above the laptop, as this laptop is supposed to support it via USB-C.
At my old job I always ran with 4 monitors in a T shape, and the lower one was at a 60° vertical angle behind the keyboard. Use to run workstations back then due to the heavy data processing with the applications I would create, but these days you can get by with the same things users use.
