Post is simple

Show/describe your setup!

Mine:

Dual Dell monitors, Optiplex 580 on Win10 Pro, Wired keyboard, Wireless mouse, desk fan, spare ethernet cable & laptop charger (we use the same company laptops throughout the business so we can hot desk if we need to), Spare mouse & storage draw’s full of junk.

Will upload pics at lunch time

I’m curious as to what other IT guys/girls have as their setup, hence the post. This is similar to my personal setup at home

15 Spice ups

MacBook Air and Dell 24" monitor on a sit/stand desk attachment. Pretty much one of everything on the rest of my desk (it looks like a tip but is very effective).

1 Spice up

HP DC7900 (due for replacement) 8GB, 120GB SSD Win 8.1 Ent

dual HP 22", wireless KB & mouse

HP 820G1 EliteBook in dock.

IT has gigabit network, the rest of the staff are on 100mbps (switches due to be upgraded next year to gigabit all round, except that the phones, wont pass it through to the client)

Avaya 9640 IP phones

2 Spice ups

Latitude E6540, dual 24 monitors.

Dell T3500 tower for Linux experimenting.

For the office: Dell Precision T3610 - Xeon E5-1620 (8core @ 3.7GHz) 16GB Ram, NVidia NVS 510, 512GB SSD primary, 2TB secondary. 4 22" monitors in a 2 up 2 down config.

For the road: Dell Precision 7510 - i7 (4core @ up to 3.6GHz) 32GB Ram, NVidia Quadro M2000 (4GB DDR5), 1TB Samsung EVO 850 Pro SSD, 2TB secondary

Dual Monitors, VariDesk, Optiplez 9020

Dual monitors, Optiplex 3020 with win7, wired keyboard, wireless mouse, spare ethernet cord and interchangable laptop power adapter, bunch of bear related desk ordaments, scattered sticky notes that are due to be thrown away today and will reappear come monday.

My daily workstation is a Dell Precision Tower 7810 with Dual (2 processors) Xeon E5-2603 @ 1.60 GHz, 16.0 GB of RAM running Windows 10 Enterprise, NVidia NVS 310 with 2 Dell U2415 monitors.

I also have a Dell Optiplex 3030 AIO and a Dell Latitude 14 Rugged in a dock with a Dell P1911t external monitor on my desk that I am in the process of building so I can pull baseline images off of them.

Standard i3 Dell 7020. Added a quatro so I can have my 4 screens, 12GB RAM. Does the job.

Dell Optiplex 9020micro Win7, 1 24" monitor, wireless ergo Microsoft keyboard and mouse…

Latitude E7240, i5-4300U, 8GB ram, windows 7. Dual Dell 23" monitors. Run of the mill docking station, wired mouse and keyboard. Cheap Panasonic RPHJE120K In-Ear headphones for listening to music. Dell USB headset for making calls. Steelcase Leap for sitting.

HP Elite Desk (i5, 16GB ram, crappy drives) 3 Benq 24’s and an old Dell 19 square - hard to beat that one for terminal sessions. I nice (but old) MS Ergo keyboard and a cheap ol mouse… gets the job done.

If I had the space I’d have another 19 and 24 on my desk, still seems like there is never enough monitor to go around.

This is my home office. My workstation is at the bottom. It’s a Core i5 machine with 16GB of RAM, 250GB SSD, 1TB HDD, 4x 24" monitor. The other two monitors on the stand are my monitoring system (top right) and my Linux Mint workstation (top left - running a retro BSOD screensaver).

My office computer which I hardly ever use since I work from home is a Core i5 machine with 8GB of RAM and a 250GB SSD and dual monitors.

2 Spice ups

Dell Optiplex 3010 (i3-3240 @3.4GHz) and Optiplex 780 (nasty core 2 duo… using it for testing) tied together with input director. Dual Acer V226HQL monitors (they’re too small, but my nice Dells got “re-assigned”). Standard dell keyboard, Kengsington K72369 mouse which I LOVE. My desk is an L shape, and on the long side of it I use for computer repairs/installs. I’ve got three monitors, power cables, gigabit ethernet, mice, keyboards, and laptop power supplies on that side.

I’d really like to get a new computer but nooooooo they won’t let me have one with dual xeon processors and 1TB of RAM. “Budget” scoff /joke

It’s a mess right now. That much cabling lasts about a week without being tangled.

Edit: I forgot to mention my 20oz coffee mug! Very important. It’s usually filled with some french roast.

Workstation is a custom AMD 8 Core, 64 GB Ram, 256 SSD running Win 10. One 28" monitor with 24" ones on either side, wired mechanical keyboard and wired mouse. My other work bench has just a 20" monitor and keyboard/mouse for setting up new computers. There is also a 24 port Gig switch that’s connected to the backbone via fiber.

this is mine, double cube, multiple drawer storage, workstation is a dell e6230 i5 with 8gbs memory, 256gb SSD on Win 10 Pro, one 28in and 24in monitors, wireless keyboard and mouse. and then loaner laptops, and new equipment being set up on the right.

1 Spice up

Mine is a custom build Windows 10 machine with 16GB RAM, I7, Dual 240GB SSD and a R9 380X.

Nothing special at all. A Dell T3500, single monitor. Only frill is a solar keyboard.

Office at home is a SP3. Once again, nothing special. Most times, I don’t even use it. If I can work in the living room, I use my Macbook.

I try to keep it simple.

Dell Latitude E7450 running Windows 10, Intel i7, 8 GB RAM, 256GB SSD, 1 x 24" monitor, 1 x 20" monitor

Great work machine but my fav bit of kit is my electric powered standing desk.

I have:

2 x 24" tft monitors

3 x Dell Precision 7500 (dual proc, hex core 3.0 processors), 96 gb of RAM, 3 TB of disk

1 x Latitude E6500 (single proc, quad core I7) 16gb ram, 1tb ssd

1 x Surface Pro

They are linked by a combination of a KVM switch and RDP.
