I’m having an issue with spiceworks network discovery, I’ve configured it with a domain admin account but it fails on most of my machines with the authentication error.<\/p>\n
Test failed: check account, password or WMI configuration<\/p>\n
I’ve re entered the password several times and tested from the spiceworks server with the wmic command below and the same account and all works properly.<\/p>\n
Wmic /user:[email protected] /password:??? /node:”testmachine” systemenclosure get serialnumber<\/p>\n

i’ve just done some more tweaking and found that if i change the format of the login name from [email protected] to domain\\account it passes the auth tests.<\/p>\n
[email protected] → auth fails<\/p>\n
domain\\account → auth works<\/p>\n
