Afternoon Spiceheads,<\/p>\n
I am having a major issue at one of my sites with one of our 490 appliances. This started about 6 weeks ago and quite frankly, support has been of no help. It started with the appliance no longer backing up to their cloud, showing offline in the cloud. We updated the firmware, checked port restrictions in the firewall, nothing seem to fix it. Recently Barracuda contacted us and said they found the problem on their end and it had something to do with their VPN config, now they’re back pedaling and saying it’s our network again. Now, as of today, we can no longer access the GUI, we can ping it locally and ping it from other remote sites but cannot get into the GUI now. We don’t have the support plan where they will send us a “test” replacement unit.<\/p>\n
We have also checked the rudimentary stuff like swapped ethernet cables, changed switchports and even changed to a different switch. Can the OS be reloaded on this appliance? I suppose you could try the “reset to factory” feature and try starting from scratch. we’ve been using the barracuda appliances for years. never had an issue like you’re stating. we’ve had minor issues where jobs would not finish, but were able to fix that with firmware. currently we have two 690s. they replicate to each other and to the cloud.<\/p>\n

Thanks for the response, the appliance seems to come online (to the barracuda cloud) and back offline. There’s no rhyme or reason.
