I have around 350 assets that need to be updated. Can I do them all at once in inventory or do I need to update each individually? I seem to remember a way to bulk update but cannot remember how.
Thanks

You can add custom attributes against machines based on criteria, but there is no built in bulk edit.
You might be able to do it with a plugin, but i dont know of one

Thanks for the update. Someone suggested “Device Archiver”. I am going to give it a try.

That is no longer supported and puts devices in a holding areas, doing as its name suggests, and archives them for historical reasons but they are no longer scanned.

In theory, you can use the CSV import to bulk update devices. You can create a report in Spiceworks to export all the devices you want to edit, make the changes en masse in Excel, then import them again. That should update the devices instead of importing new ones (so long as the serial_number field is in the file and correct).
Make sure to make a backup of your install before doing anything. That way if things go sideways, you can restore the app.

As an aside, Rod is right - definitely do not use Device Archiver for this (and really, don’t use it for anything - it seems fraught with issues).
