Hi everyone,
I work at a small counseling center and we are beginning to implement Spiceworks. When implementing new technologies, we always have to be very careful to ensure that we are remaining compliant with HIPAA regulations. I don’t think that Spiceworks will cause any issues provided that no one submits any client information in their tickets (which we intend to enforce).
None the less, my boss is still concerned about the HIPAA compliance of Spiceworks and has asked me if we should seek out a Business Associate Agreement(BAA). I just wanted to ask other people’s opinions on this. I am also curious who I should contact with questions relating to the BAA.
Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Hi,
Spiceworks isn’t HIPAA certified on its own. If you download and install Spiceworks on your own network, then its up to you to get everything HIPAA compliant. I’m sure there are some users out there who have Spiceworks running in a HIPAA environment.
