We have so much activity in Spiceworks around Cyber Security seems we are missing an opportunity for those who are interested to check out this group?

I agree, what’s the secret? It would benefit all members to have this information available.

WOW STOP YELLING AT ME… LOL just kidding. I agree with you guys. I just took over the group when I joined spiceworks last month and couldnt get a response. I want everyone to be involved so I can learn as much as possible. I have to run some errands for awhile but I will look into seeing how to make it public for sure in less somebody gives me an iron clad reason why it can’t which I don’t see the benefit in that. If somebody reads this and knows how to take this group public please post it and Ill check-in in a bit.

And Thanks for the suggestion 100% best answer of the year!!!

There is a public area in Spiceworks for security already. see https://community.spiceworks.com/security Not saying this should stay private.

If anyone wanna post a private question, they can always post a general question then msg the person who have better insights for detailed or more private conversations.

I do not mind the the group changed to public if it can help others with their security related issues/questions.

There might be occasions when we’d like to keep discussions private for confidentiality, but in that case, DM is always possible as already suggested.

Wasn’t aware this was a super secret cabal of international cyber security agents.

As long as anyone who violates the rules is dealt with accordingly I see no problem with it. This isn’t FaceCrook or any other social site for childish behavior!! Trolling, name calling, and any other useless banter should not be tolerated!! This is a group of professionals and the conduct should be as such. There’s my 2 cents.

Ye why not, it should go public. cyber security is a vast space. Sharing knowledge and scenario helps mitigate

Let’s make it public. As long as everyone continues to use it correctly and only posts relevant questions, I see no problem with that

I saw that @kareembadr4040 voted no on this; wondering why. But seeing as Conor doesn’t have any contributions (posts, that is) in this group, I think it’s safe to say that it wasn’t because of posting something they didn’t want made public.

Based on that, I think we’re good to go to make this one of the public, technology groups.

Sound good?
