Hey everyone,<\/p>\n
I have been setting up Inventory for the last couple of days and I have encountered a problem with one out of our two apple computers with the scan.<\/p>\n
Everytime I enter the admin credentials of the computer during a rescan I am presented with an error saying<\/p>\n
“Test failed with unknown error (Net::SSH::Disconnect). Please visit the Spiceworks Community Support forums for help.”<\/p>\n
I have scoured the help forums looking for the answers to this quandary, but I haven’t been able to resolve it yet. I have mirrored the setup of the other apple computer we have which would be:<\/p>\n
Firewall: off<\/p>\n
Sharing: On for the admin account that I am logging in with<\/p>\n
The User accounts permissions/privileges are mirrored as well.<\/p>\n
I honestly don’t know what else I would be able to do with this. I had this exact same issue on one of our iMacs and was really pulling my hair out over it, I ended up trying the following steps and hey presto! Is now retrieving inventory on that iMac.<\/p>\n
Start with these and let us know how you get on and I’ll assist more <\/p>\n

As an aside, there was some version - maybe El Capitan, where you actually had to log in once with the admin credentials manually in order for us to be able to login an scan in. It’s possible subsequent versions may have the same requirement.*<\/p>\n

I have double and triple checked all of the settings I have been using for trying to connect to this one apple computer, but I am still not able to scan it with the Inventory tool. Geez, I am silly. Thank you for pointing that out. It would appear that I cannot SSH to the one computer.
