My problem is somewhat similar to this: Cannot get Xerox 7845 to send email via Microsoft 365

I’m using the document put out by MS here: How to set up a multifunction device or application to send emails using Microsoft 365 or Office 365 | Microsoft Learn to set up option 2. I am able to do this just fine on Brother MFCs, but when I try to do it on a Xerox it tells me that one of more of the addresses is invalid. I can set up SMTP2Go just fine on the Xerox and there are no issues, but when I try it with 365 I can’t get it to work.

Xerox support is generally useless so I’m seeing if anyone here has any clues before trying to call them.

Do you have the latest firmware installed? I see on xerox site the current version is 101.002.019.20200

It is on that firmware version.

Isn’t the current version 103.002.022.14600? I would also recommend updating the firmware. Be warned that it takes a long time.

Xerox Altalink C8045 R22-05

For Method 2 SMTP port 25 be sure any SMTP Authentication is set to OFF. Otherwise the device will try to authenticate where there is no Auth service running to respond, so it will fail.

heck That the SMTP Server Settings and DNS Settings Are Correct. Make sure the date and time of the device is correct. Refer to How To Set the Date and Time.

We had to get Xerox involved and they EVENTUALLY were able to get this functional. I’m going with buggy firmware as it would work for a while then break, then work for a while, then break.
