I’ve followed all the posted instructions on how to fix scan errors but I am still getting “Windows WMI port not open, firewall problem?” on three PC’s in my network. The machines themselves are not running any firewalls and WMI seems to check out using the command that pulls the serial number. Should I send my logs into support?

What else is installed on those PCs, Windows? Endpoint Security ?

Did you try - http://community.spiceworks.com/scripts/show/181-resolving-spiceworks-unknowns-unofficial ?

Did you try this: Troubleshooting Spiceworks Inventory Inconsistencies - Spiceworks

and set scan speed to slow.

The PC’s are windows XP PC’s. I tried http://community.spiceworks.com/scripts/show/181-resolving-spiceworks-unknowns-unofficial and set the scan speed to slow but that was unsuccessful.

Thanks for the post but that was all set up correctly.

Then check if the scanning account has rights on the affected machines.

These machines are joined to the domain and I’ve checked that.

Hiya

Did you managed to get this sorted?

Can you mark best answer and any helpful posts?
