Hello Spiceworks Community,

we are an IT Service provider administrating differnet company networks, servers and computers. We would like to take our service one step further an monitor our clients infrastructure.

Do you have an good advice, how to accomplish this task?

I’m thinking of a setup, where i have one central monitor master located at our office which retrieves informations from all our clients. Is it possible with spiceworks? Do i need VPN or other technologies to accomplish this setup?

Hi,

Spiceworks does allow you to set up remote sites that all feed data back to the central site. You can find more information on that here: https://community.spiceworks.com/support/help-desk/docs/remote-site-help-desk

I mentioned this on another post just the other day.

While Spiceworks can do this and can use remote collectors per site, I would first confirm with the companies you monitor they are ok with their data sharing in the same monitoring app as another, they do not split down in to groups/teams/companies it will all be visible in a single view, which can complicate things if you have a naming convention, for example each of your companies has an exchange server called exchangesrv01 or dcsrv01.

You also need to be cautious of their data being in a single DB, while handy for you this may not be suitable for them in a compliance way.
