I really like the Spiceworks concept. It’s easy to implement and has some absolutely amazing features for a free product. However, there’s ONE thing keeping me from fully deploying it. The inability to easily monitor multiple sites. I’ve read through a few things, and simply don’t see how I can easily view a ll my monitored sites from my main location (or ideally anywhere I am). Is there a way to integrate all my various networks spread out across the city under a single pane of glass?

3 Spice ups

through your remote offcie to the main you do have a VPN ?
then you just install spicework in another computer in the remote office and make it a data collector ill edit the post to search for the how to

Also, Give these articles a read: Remote Collectors and Remote Office Inventory .

Dang i was pretty sure i linked the remote office Inventory that douglas posted and yes that the best one to refer too since that the how to i used myself

Thank you very much for such a quick reply (and useful information.

I guess I’m just a little disappointed/confused as why it’s so difficult (not built-in).

From the homepage:

Looking for a way to manage networks at multiple clients? Want to run a help desk, create client reports, and more? With Spiceworks you can:

  • Scan the networks at multiple clients
  • Manage tickets across clients with a help desk
  • Monitor client sites for changes
  • Report on client networks & activities

Why is this listed and advertised as a major selling point? It creates a terrible OOTB experience. I assumed there was a centralized management window/client/server, or at the very least a remote installer that would point everything back home.

oh its pretty easy took me 15 min to set up.

you download and install on the remote office then you skip the auto installation to go in the setting then you click on the remote collector and you make one.
you need to synch both the remote and the main and the last thing you need to do is put the scan range.

Got it, that second article makes it seem much easier. Thank you again for all the helpful information.

jsut make sure to give best answer and helpful post

Glad you got it worked out Chrisaroz.
