Hi all,

I just migrated my Spiceworks install to a different server and when I start it using port 9675 (which is the port I used on the original server) it starts fine but when I change it to use port 80 it hangs on the “Starting Up …” window.

Any ideas?

Dave

Do you have a IIS server?

Maybe your AV or firewall is getting in the way try disabling them.

Definatly some conflict with something else on that server. Look in your IIS settings in Admin tools.

Any reason SW needs to be 80?

I do have IIS installed but it isn’t running. I’ve excluded the Spiceworks folder from Symantec so that shouldn’t be in the way.

Even if its not running it will normally hog port 80…

I suppose I could redirect to port 80 but I was wanting simplicity in setup.

If you don’t use IIS uninstall it?

Or check for world wide web service being enabled / started

Ah… that was it. I simply told IIS to use a different port and that freed it up. Thanks for the quick responses! You guys rock!

Cool
