All respect to Suzanne (Spiceworks) and her excellent IT Alignment chart ( IT Alignment Chart ), but I think this may be a more important question. What is your monitor alignment?

I am sitting at three right now, if i thought I could get away with a fourth I would do it.

7 Spice ups

I have two of the same size at work but they’re not symmetrically arranged. Primary is a little closer and more in front.

I am not sure what to call it: I have 4 monitors that are set up like a cross between neutral good and lawful evil. Or maybe 2 lawful evils?

edit: Above is at work. At home it is neutral good.

3 Spice ups

None of these fits mine. For home I have a laptop screen in between two vertical monitors, and at work I have a laptop screen in between two horizontal (because they don’t have a vertical option). So… a cross between lawful neutral, and neutral good and evil depending on the space?

Which one should I have selected for…

This is why 3x3 grids don’t work…

4 Spice ups

Three external monitors with the laptop lid open and an iPad in front of me.

3 Spice ups

Lawful good at work (kind of mine is 2 monitors and the laptop monitor setup) and lawful Neutral at home.

2 Spice ups

There are too many options to fit in the chart. I would be lawful good but my left monitor is portrait. Which I guess makes me LGWAT (lawful good with a twist)

3 Spice ups

I think my network admin is aiming for lawful evil!

1 Spice up

I am lawful neutral for both.

Looks like I’m “lawfully good”. However, you didn’t bother to ask about what’s connected to those monitors. At home, the right monitor in my setup is connected through a HDMI selector, and depending on what I’m doing it may be a third monitor for the main PC, displaying a 2nd PC, my Raspberry Pi 400, or the Blu-ray player.

Here is my alignment with the one in the middle being supported by a Mac Mini box because it’s what I had at the time! 41326fd8-e846-492b-b286-3fc548b45819-Untitled3.png

3 Spice ups

34 LG inch wide/curved 4k on left, high resolution 14 inch Surface on right
plus off view 55 inch 4k on wall.

I guess I am lawful neutral so I voted wrong.

What if at home I’m typing on a chromebook but also displaying things on the 65" TV several feet away?

3 Spice ups

Mine is the mirror image of ich.ni.san’s picture.

I have the same setup at work.

Of course Windows 11, with all of its “improvements” in handling docking configurations, cannot remember what goes where when I first dock either place, so I would call the period of time where I am fixing it all “chaotic pissed-off” but that wasn’t an option.

3 Spice ups

I’m definitely a neutral good at work. Home is absolute chaos because I like it!

2 Spice ups

I like my “lawful good” work setup with my laptop underneath the middle one. I feel like I am in a space ship cockpit. I wish I had the same at home but due to my limited desk space I have my laptop with a monitor connected to the side.
