Does anyone know of a good online resource to get Cisco training and certification? I know you have to go to a location like New Horizons to actually take the cert test, but I’m trying to see if there is a reasonable priced online resource I can use in my free time to build up my Cisco certs. Unfortunately I’m more of a visual learner than book learner, so having training videos and practice labs is going to be the most beneficial

If you like visual learning. Look for some router simulators. I had my CCNA from 2003-2006 and they were the key to help me pass

Welcome to the world of Cisco my friend. Google CBTnuggets or just go to their website and take it from there. There are also tons of free resources available in case you cannot afford their products but you just have to do your homework unless someone else here can be more specific than I can. I recently came across a great CCNA trainning website provided by Robert Half Technology/skillsoft they are awesome guys not to take away from “Jeremy The Cisco God” but these guys are amazing. Good luck and try to buy yourself some cheap equipment on ebay and stay away from gns3 and packet tracer unless you work in IT and have the foundation.
That’s my opinion those of you gns3 and packet tracer gurus lol lol so back off…

Some if this depends on your skill level. If you have some real basic experience then I would:

Get some equipment (I agree with Bef7080 to do this instead of gns3 etc…)

Get an exercise book for the CCNA (Boson has some nice ones)

Get the CCNA Portable Command Guide.

Start doing basic commands and then do the exercises.
