So I’ve been talking to my small business “rep” for the past couple weeks just trying to get a quote for some M4800 laptops. My rep that was assigned was Paul Sorbo. I received an email yesterday that you guys had moved some accounts around. I have 3 users left to move over to Windows 10 and an MDT server I wanna mess around with. Can someone assist me with getting this done? 2 weeks without a quote for 5 machines is a bit ridiculous imo.

Go through a vendor? You’re liable to get better support, and probably better prices.

Used vendors before but there’s no need to add complications at this time. Just want to know when I’ll actually get a response.

I’d recommend PCConnection - Ask for Chris Barrett - he is awesome and really fast at getting a quote. Probably will get you better pricing than directly through Dell anyway.

Once I get one from Dell I’ll check and see. I just hate how persistent vendors have been with me in the past. Nothing like a weekly email asking you to purchase more…

We use PC Connection to, and as far as i know they don’t bug us about buying stuff.

zuphzuph, Thank you for your interest in our Dell M4800 laptops. Please PM me your contact info and customer number and I will locate your rep or assign a new one.

Thank you,

If it’s an e-mail showing prices and new stuff available, I find that quite useful.

Since I’m working for an IT Service Provider, I have like 10 distributor sending me e-mails with products, prices, promotions, events. It’s good to keep up with the market and search for price variance.

I never get pinged by PC Connection and they are extremely responsive. Best VAR I have worked with to date. I would never purchase directly from DELL again.

I rarely buy straight from Dell anymore. Check out xByte though, ask for Brad . The place is small enough that I didn’t have his last name but he is pretty easy to deal with. Prices are fair. I’ll see if I can get him to chime in but I can only find him on MangoLassi. paging

I work with Scott Stemp from PC Connection. He is very responsive and PC Connection has lots of resources to help make the best decisions. As an end user (not a consultant) I appreciate the fact that PC Connection does not send out marketing emails. I get enough of them from other companies. When I want to purchase something I see in those marketing emails, I check with Scott.

I was an early adopter of the Dell Consultants Network which worked really well until my rep, Trent Eudy was promoted somewhere else in the organization.

It has been sad neglect since then, one of my clients went back to getting the online site reps from the Philippines to call them back after the latest stand in didn’t get back.

Dell seems to be back on the downward trend for small market sales and after purchase support again.

Same problem here. With the recent changes at Dell, my new rep waits for days to get quotes. In the last days, she mentioned that they have a problem with system and that was causing serious problems.

Hey @zuphzuph

Just saw some mentions for PC Connection going around here and if you need me to get in touch with any of the people mentioned above, I would be more than happy to help.

Thanks for the mentions as well guys!

I share your anxiety, Dell likes to change our reps every so often. We just about get one broken in and suddenly they’re off to bigger better things and we’re back to someone who I have to link specific places on Dell’s site to give background info before I can get an answer to a question about a product. The reps always seem like they’re too overloaded, so I’ll get slow quotes, sloppy quotes, sometimes have to bump my request to get a response back, etc.

The weird thing is, Dell direct is extremely aggressive with pricing for us and no reseller has been able to touch it so far.
