In my Windows 7 machine… 64 bit… i get to Device Manager and i can double click on the devices, but it will not let me edit or update any devices. There arent any tabs when i open the device. I have tried turning off UAC and im an Admin on several Accounts. I know im leaving out a ton of details so please ask away.<\/p>\n

Stupid question, but are you going right-click → Properties or just trying to double-click them? Also, I agree with Jacob. Check for malware and/or viruses…I saw once where a virus had embedded itself in the TCP/IP protocol and nothing else…darndest thing to remove but I got it. Was very odd but sounds like a similar problem.<\/p>\n
