I have a server that was restarted in the middle of a Spicewokrs Scan. As a result, it showed up as offline. I changed the scan settings to rescan everything, and it is still showing offline (even after sending us an alert that new software was installed. If I clear the alert, I get another alert right away saying that it’s offline. Sweep ping is turned off, the network scan settings are attached.

i changed the network health check interval to 5 min, and the Re-scan data to 1 hour (to ensure that a full scan of everything occurred) I have checked the log, and it did find the server (at least it resolved it…) I have pinged it and can confirm that I am able to ping it.

What is the best option for getting it to show online again? Should I remove it from the inventory and let Spiceworks find it again?

That’s usually my quick fix. I’m assuming since it’s a server you’ve got a static IP address on it and the firewall service isn’t running? Either way, delete it and rescan to add it back and see if that fixes it. Also check your DNS to see if there are any errors revolving around that server.

{"@type":"Person
[{"@type":"Answer

That worked. Unfortunately this means I have lost the history of this device, but since it’s being decommissioned in the (hopefully) not to distant future it’s not the end of the world

{"@type":"Person
cory2146
https://community.spiceworks.com/u/cory2146"}},{"@type":"Answer

Yeah, I haven’t really had any issues with my systems since we resolved the issues in DNS etc, so haven’t had to deal with losing history.

{"@type":"Person
michichael
https://community.spiceworks.com/u/michichael"}}]}}
