Good day everyone.

I recently rejoined the ranks working for a small MSP. One of my tasks right now is to get us going with a solution that would incorporate some form of RMM with a ticketing system. Currently we are using their CRM for tickets and something built-in to the AV offering for patching. Has anyone actually tried to use Spiceworks as a solution for an MSP? I know it wouldn’t pull long term if we got too big, but I would think it would fill for a while until we got too many customers.

Not for an MSP, I wouldn’t recommend it honestly. You can try FreshBooks or something like that.

Nope, just the community - it was the helpdesk that brought me here in a previous job though.

If you’re looking for free - then ITOP CMDB may be a good solution for you

I just used Spiceworks for 2 years when I worked with 300 users and we had like 1000 devices (pc, laptops, servers, networking, printers, tablets and phones)

After it got bigger and we had 2 international offices (albeit smaller) we had moved to MSCC with Intune

But we still used the ticket solution for a while.

My bet is you have to take into consideration how straightforward the Spiceworks process and tools are now for your daily tasks

If you need ticketing and RMM from the same solution take a look at NinjaOne (formerly NinjaRMM) as it will do both.

We use the old unsupported on-prem edition. Had a successful 10 year run with it, but now am looking elsewhere. The cloud version is too weak and I’m not seeing good development on it. We’re trialing Jira right now and it’s looking solid.
