We have a ePo server v5.1 running on Windows Server 2022. Over a short time there is one drive that contains epo_essepo_events_log.ldf which fills up. When this happens I cannot login to the ePo web page. I do know the SQL credentials but I am at aloss on how I can manage to get more space. SOMETIMES I can login to the web page and I did fire off a task to purge threat events older than 90 days. I was watching the progress (0 progress) and eventually the console lost the ePo connection. I am running in circles on how to free space. Or is it possible to move the LDF to a new drive? I have not been able to load new ePo signatures for months. This is an offline network. Any ideas?

…people are still using McAfee these days?? As for logfile overflow, I’m not an SQL DB admin but I can say there should be a native setting that limits the logfile size and dumps the oldest files first, once it hits that limit…just can’t remember where that’s at.

I know our SQL admin has a regular script that runs to clear out older logs like once a week.

Yes, you can move the SQL files to another drive, but if you’re not familiar with how, have your DBA do this for you.

You don’t say how many devices or what packages you use, but logs filling up is to be expected, either your 90 days is too much if you have many devices or your setup isn’t purging as expected.

This is my bet, I haven’t touched anything ePO related in a good long while but this was always a buggy issue. Even when it did work as expected, we had to keep an eye on it, because it could suddenly stop working and flood the drive with no notice.
