This error is only happening on one machine in my domain of 50. The machine is also have random freezes from time to time and I wonder if this is part of the issue. Do I need to remove the machine from the domain and rename it and re add it to the domain?

The processing of Group Policy failed. Windows attempted to retrieve new Group Policy settings for this user or computer. Look in the details tab for error code and description. Windows will automatically retry this operation at the next refresh cycle. Computers joined to the domain must have proper name resolution and network connectivity to a domain controller for discovery of new Group Policy objects and settings. Have you checked to make sure the PC has the correct IP set up? Is it pulling a DHCP address if you are using DHCP? If not using DHCP is the IP address, gateway, and DNS all set up correctly?

Check these items first and then try removing it from the domain. Don’t forget to delete the computer account from User & Computers before you add it back.

{"@type":"Person
biscuitking
https://community.spiceworks.com/u/biscuitking"}},{"@type":"Answer

When I do a CMD ipconfig it comes back with a correct ip, mask, and gateway.

{"@type":"Person
robertpearson2
https://community.spiceworks.com/u/robertpearson2"}},{"@type":"Answer
