We recently had a third party come in and evaluate for us. They suggested SpiceWorks as a possible monitoring/helpdesk combo, instead of using the separate pieces we use now. I talked to my boss and told him I was willing to learn how to use SpiceWorks. (I have been a member of the community, but wasn’t authorized to download the product.) He is going to set up my own vm and let me get know all the ins & outs of Spiceworks. He said he has tried to figure it out a time or two, but doesn’t have the time to now, so here is my shot! I know from reading various responses in the groups that if I have a problem, there are plenty of knowledgeable ppl on here who will help me out!!! Have I mentioned how EXCITED I am to get this going?!?!

I remember when we got our installation going. A great day indeed.

That’s awesome. He’ll wonder why you guys weren’t using it sooner. Especially for the cost!

That is great. Once they have it, they wil wonder how they got by without it.

We are all here to help when needed!

There are so many ways I could tell you how the Spiceworks software has aided me …

Get the Helpdesk running (if you have AD this is the best and easiest that I know), and get the inventory up and running properly.

the next best thing in my opinion is the RFQ.

ofcourse nothing comes to the amazing info you will get from the community!!!

There are a whole bunch of video’s available for 101’s and 202’s on the different elements of spiceworks program. Just depends what you want to do with it!!!

Glad to have you aboard.

happy for you

Wooohooo, it really is the best software out there and its free.

Once you have it working you will be very happy with the product. Its a little frustrating at first getting it setup, but it gets easier.

Wohoo!!! Enjoy getting to know it. Definitely worth the learning curve. Help Desk is wunnerful… as is most everything else!

Welcome!

Welcome to being a Spicehead!

He tried to figure it out a time or two? Must not be the technical type. =p

Anyone else hear pill-zee in their head when reading the OP?

(warning, probably NSFW for most people…)

Awesome. Yes, the community is fantastic. Kudos to all fellow spiceheads everywhere!

Yup! We’re here for you! Congrats and welcome!

Lol. He is very knowledgeable in the IT world. I think because I am older, I probably have more patience. Plus, this just gives him the opportunity to let me take care of things and he can concentrate more on the administrative part of his job.

party on!
