Clair Obscure. That is all. Only got to play about an hour and a half yesterday but it’s already shaping up to be the best game I’ve played since Elden Ring. Imaginative, inventive, unique, clearly made full of love and passion it’s the antithesis to everything plaguing the gaming industry right now. And it’s not even a full priced release! The fact that this was made by 30 people (who were originally employed by Ubisoft, no less!) is a testament to the fact that the issues plaguing the gaming industry is not developers, it’s the suits and publishers running things into the dirt like they did Hollywood.
If you have any love for the games industry at all I implore you to pick this title up and show your support, we need more games like this instead of Assassin’s Creed #547 or Call of Duty 3000 or the ten thousandth remaster/remake of an old game.
What things do you want to do this weekend?
Tomorrow I’ve got a volunteer event in the morning and then my weekend is mostly free. I’d like to spend more time in the world of Clair Obscure but I do need to get yardwork done and hopefully since my fiancée isn’t housesitting this weekend she and I can sell her couches that have been sitting in the garage ever since she moved in over a year ago.
Sunday’s my nephew’s birthday so we’ll be going out to dinner. I’ve pretty much got my old Switch modded and ready for him, just need to install a few more games and put the replacement kickstand on. I think he’s gonna lose his mind when he opens it up lol.
What game would you love to see be remastered?
If we’re being completely honest I’d rather see the trend of remastering games slow down quite a bit. We’re at the point where we have titles like Days Gone, Horizon: Zero Dawn, and even Breath of the Wild getting full price (i.e. $70+) releases that in some instances do not include all the original DLC! It’s way, way out of hand.
That said I wouldn’t mind SEGA doing a re-release of Skies of Arcadia so that it can be played on modern systems without having to resort to emulation.
Bluetooth headphones, yea or nay?
I use my airpods all day at work since I can use my iPad as my deskphone via our phone system’s app. Makes it very easy to work and listen to podcasts or YouTube. So yeah, I’m a pretty big fan.
