If yoooooouuuuuuuuu can believe it. It’s a Friday once again!!! I have a long weekend ahead of me and so I intend to spend that time doing something, not sure at this very moment. I think I’d like to finally get my Viper up to lvl 100 in FFXIV. I don’t want to tank any raids right now; I’d like to just have long wait times and DPS after what feels like two hours of waiting. Idk if I have any other games I’d like to play yet. I would love to try making braised short ribs for the first time ever but inflation this and that means short ribs are expensive. It could be they always were, but I just was never in the market for them. Since watching the Bear I have wanted to challenge myself and cook dishes I haven’t made before.

I’ll probably play some Apocalypse Party, and try to find some settings on The Ascent that don’t make my laptop melt and can give me a decent framerate. I really need to get myself a proper gaming PC…

What things do you want to do this weekend?
Not much. I ordered the KiwiSix replacement processor board and power board for the PolySix since the processor board is shot. I have to wait on those to show up to finish the restoration. I need to do some cleaning in my office and do a Costco run, which I fully intend on completing before EOD today so I have the full weekend free.

Entire movies? No. Some interesting dialogue? Sure.

Should Disney get rid of their Arbitration clause?
Arbitration clauses should be illegal (and actually are in many places). This just helps big companies to evade sanctions when they do something dangerous/borderline illegal.

You mean software updates? It’s all done automagically, so I’ll say yes? I really don’t care that much for hardware, so I upgrade when parts are borked.

What games do you want to play this weekend?
Probably not too much, to be honest. I might be able to get a game of Apocalypse Party in with @jplesage and maybe even play some of The Ascent with him if he can ever figure out settings that don’t make his laptop melt. There may be some Jack Box Party Pack being played over the weekend but those chances are low.

Want? Stay home. Unfortunately, we’re finally visiting the in-laws. It’s gonna be a major event so waifu’s fam is bing chilling Hmong style. The whole squad’s basically going to be there so I expect there to be at least 50 people for a majority of the weekend. The in-law I’m staying at is max capacity so waifu and I are going to sleep in the car.

Nah, I know a lot of lines from Starship Troopers but the whole movie?!?!? That’s asking a bit much.

That’s so scuffed and is a bad look for Disney. I’m not saying they ever really had a “good” look, being a multi-billion dollar corporation with a not so wonderful founder… but you get what I’m saying.

Work? Nay. I usually run updates on test machines/servers first. But my machine is usually the first one that gets the updates for further testing before patches get pushed out in waves to my coworkers.
Home machines? Yea. I don’t even change the Windows settings so they just update and reboot when they have to. I also update my GPU drivers when the notification pops up.

No. It’s a good thing for them as a company, and I think arbitration is normally a fair thing for both sides. However, they might want to back off in this particular instance (and be more judicious on enforcement overall) because of the negative PR. They are their reputation. I don’t understand why they haven’t already settled.

Nay. I usually wait until the next time I would normally restart.

What games do you want to play this weekend? I got bored suddenly with fps/rpg games I’ve been playing, so I’m into some Civilization VI now for a few runs. My all-time fave standby, whatever iteration of it. Kind of sad that VII is in production already, as I really haven’t ever played enough of VI to get used to all of the changes and options in that one, which were overall good updates to the game, imo. I bet I haven’t played half of the leaders/nations in it, yet.

Original Star Wars movie came out when I was about 11, and yes I did smuggle in a shoebox sized cassette recorder and record the whole thing and listened to it quite a bit. Definitely had the entire movie memorized, line for line, but it’s been awhile since I’ve tried to exercise that memory. Probably not, anymore.
Should Disney get rid of their Arbitration clause? Eff that mouse and all of the horrible crud it’s done to the entertainment industry and copywrite law over the decades. Terms should only be applicable to the specific business entity presenting the contract, not parent or sister entities. Disney+ channel agreement should not extend to Disney at large.
Do you update your PC as soon as possible, yea or nay? Since letting the home machine upgrade to win11, I have been letting them run as they drop. In the past I have not.

I’m out in Newcastle this weekend, so whilst I will play some Apex/HOI when I get back mostly not playing much.

What games do you want to play this weekend?
Well I made the arduous decision to try and circle back and get some of the “Silent Assassin” challenges on all of the missions in the Hitman Trilogy. So I’ll continue with that, until I get to the new missions from the last game.
I may dip my toes into Diablo IV to see what the new season has offered.

Well they’re calling for rain here all weekend so likely will a lot of gaming and tv, which I’m not opposed to either lol.

Probably just some WoW, expansion drops in 6 days. The crew and I have been running old content for transmogrification purposes.

I really hope I get some good time on Assassins Creed Valhalla. I finally got through all of Odyssey and all of it’s DLC’s. 100% everything, great fun! Other than that I will likely continue to play some of The First Descendants with my buddies. It’s still a good bit of fun but I have hit the grind wall.

Want to do? Not much. Have to do? Mow, cook, chores in general.

A - Really not interested in many games at the moment. Probably just some Pokemon Go and maybe some simple like BF2042.

A - Got a birthday party for a friend this weekend. Its WWE themed so I will be wearing my CM Punk shirt :sunglasses: Should be a good time.

A - Hmmmm probably not honestly. If I had to take a guess on one though, I would likely choose Shrek. Like that movie and has lots of memorable lines in it.

A - Yes, if your referring to the recent case where the wife died in a restaurant at Disney and that Disney is claiming he can’t sue because of his Disney+ subscription, then yes 100% That whole story blows my mind.

A - Not really. I just kind of let it do its own thing. My personal PC really only gets updated if i’m being forced or if I think it can resolves some issue with programs I am using.

Well I wrapped up all the achievements in Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown last night so I’m not really sure what I want to play since Black Myth Wukong releases next week and I’ve got until February to finish Kingdom Come: Deliverance. I’ll probably spend some time finetuning Switch emulation on my Steam Deck & PC, I’d like to get it working with my JoyCons for 4 player Mario Party. If I play any games I’ll probably just stick to story light games like Sifu.

Plan is to go see Alien: Romulus tomorrow because as an Alien fan I’m a sucker for pain. All I’m hoping for is dumb entertainment on par with Promethus but based on how bad the franchise is after the first two that might be setting the bar a little too high.

Quite frankly I don’t give a rip what Disney does, they’ve destroyed the entertainment industry and set their shenanigans on culture at large. It’s sad what activists have done to the House of Mouse.

No, not really. I do an initial build and then any upgrades come as I find deals until I reach a point where I need to replace the motherboard. If we’re talking software updates then I just let it update as it needs it and only check for drivers every now and then.
