So, they brought back the General channel after a hiatus. I just noticed this - haven’t had to create a team in some time.

It states that if you name the first channel General or rename a previous first channel to General it should show at the top of the channel list.

I am not seeing this behavior. Anyone else?

I honestly never saw the General channel go away…interesting. General is still the top channel in all our teams.

Same here.
Was it removed for those in the development or beta channel or whatever it’s called for Teams? We’re not in that channel, so we just use general release.

We’re in Current Channel (Preview) and never lost the General channels. I do seem to remember an announcement from Microsoft about this, but just assumed it never happened.

The General channels previously created would still be there. Sometime last year, they allowed you to name the first channel, but you couldn’t name it General. Now they are allowing you to name the first channel General.

My issue is that the General channel is not showing at the top.

General channel shows at the top of all Teams for me (where it exists).

Does the web version of Teams have the same behaviour for you? Have you tried a reset/clearing the Teams client cache? I’ve found that if something doesn’t display properly (missing meeting in the calendar, etc), that a reset will usually fix it. Clear the Teams client cache - Microsoft Teams | Microsoft Learn

D’OH! Yeah, I need to reset. I tell everyone else do it but can’t heed my own advice.

That’s because us IT folks just don’t get hit with the same issues as the plebs who have to come to us for help. We’re so much better than that, we don’t have to turn things off and back on to get them working. Oh wait…

Reset worked. Thank you.
