Hello All -

I am trying to setup Google Apps for dual delivery, just to trial it before making a full commitment. I am struggling with one aspect.

We are currently using Exchange 2003, so I am trying to follow the steps outlined in the article - Configure email delivery - Google Workspace Admin Help.

I have tested sending email to Google alias from my Exchange account and that works. Sending from my Google account to Exchange works, and I am of course getting all mail from users on the Exchange server forwarded to my Google account.

But, I am not getting email from outside our Exchange forwarded to Google. The messages do deliver to my Exchange account but they don’t forward back out to my Google.

All incoming mail does go through a Barracuda appliance, so is it possible that Barracuda sees this a relay and not sending it back out?

Thanks for your advice.

Jason

If Exchange is primary, the barracuda may be preventing the relay.

From what I’ve seen multiple people had the same issue with a Barracuda appliance as you due to Recipient Verification, you could try whitelisting gmails IP address and see if that helps with the forwarding.

Yep, I did this. It’s the MX records. Because the external MX records still point to your exchange server you have to set up forwarding on all of the recipients to their google alias.

Once you are ready to go live with Google apps you will elevate the google MX records over your exchange records. The mail will properly deliver to google then.
