Hi all
I am migrating a client to Google Apps for Business. This client receives email directly from their domain, via web hosting company. The client does not have an internal server of any kind. Subsequently, the email does not arrive promptly, or sometimes not at all. (the client also wants the amazing collaborative benefits of Google Apps for Business)
All users won’t be present for me to train them how to access gmail once I have updated the MX records. For everyone else, I will setup the Google Apps sync for Outlook tool on each computer, and also setup their mobile devices. There are not many email users in the small company, only 8 of them, so this is feasible.
Is it possible to still set up dual delivery, with the users using the same email address on both the current and Google Apps way? Some of the users (2 directors) won’t is ‘out and about’ and they still need to access new mail in the short term. I can’t find clear help in the documentation, and the client is fairly urgent.
Thanks in advance for any help!
EDIT: I somehow missed the article. I will follow the steps at Configure dual delivery: Google Workspace primary - Google Workspace Admin Help and let you know how it goes…is there anything else I should look out for?

Stanley,
You should definitely look out for issues created by “internal routes” as users on the old system send through the old server. Those on the old server will be able to send outbound without issue, but if they send to someone else on their domain that message will not route outbound to the recipient’s Google Apps account. This issue can be overcome by adding a forward on the old server for each user that will be on Google. Use the @yourdomain.com.test-google-a.com email addresses as the forwards.
