Intel vPro provides longer battery life, WiFi 6 support, and support for AI. With options to install the management server on premises or in the cloud, IT can provide remote management and support to work force devices both inside and outside of the network! Since the remote connection is made through the hardware, not the operating system, the connection will be reliable. If you use Intel vPro devices in your network, let us know your thoughts about the platform.

If you don’t use Intel vPro, let us know how well your RMM solution works for your purposes! What does it allow you to do?

I intend to give vPro a try on my next hardware refresh.

I have purchased the vPro on all of the firm’s machines but the documentation doesn’t ever seem to point me to the solution to actually use it. What vendors provide the RMM connection? I have downloaded the guide previously and get frustrated because I really want to use the features, I just can’t seem to figure out how. Currently our RMM solution is software based and only available while Windows is loaded. Would love to have BIOS insight.

One of the reasons we standardized on vPro enabled PC’s is because of its RMM functionality that allows us to diagnose and solve issues remotely and in addition smoothly patch on time every time.

WE do not use Intel vPro Intel vPro® Platform for RMM. I have used Pulseway, NinjaOne formerly NinjaRMM, and Datto. I use Dameware Remote Everywhere to remote manage our internal clients today but the RMM tools like Ninja and Puleway, work great. a simple agent allows you to remote control, push updates, and so much more. These are fairly affordable as well. They have slick dashboards which give you insight into your endpoints, as well as current status. Command level access is also available.

@shivarr What management tool/console are you using to connect to your vPro PC’s?

2 Spice ups

Being a small department, we have not started using vPro RMM, right now, we still use Ninja. We are looking at moving to vPro RMM because we like the hardware-level connectivity vs software-based solutions.

As an MSP we have a number of remote tools for remote, security and so on but using Intel vPro® Platform gives us additional options. Backup remote connection because sometimes the screenconnect service fails to start. Features like hardware shield and security at the cpu level are features you don’t get in an AMD cpu. This makes pc refreshes almost a no brainer. You are getting all these extra features at no additional cost on the machine.

if you are new to it, this a great guide vPro Guide

Great answers from everyone! Looks like there are more ways to use Intel vPro in tandem with other tools, that’s awesome!

@shivarr Do you have any guidance for the tool/console question above?

Hi @Joel-Pnlcpa! Your Intel vPro devices would connect to your Intel EMA management console for remote management. Here is a brief overview of how it should work Intel® Endpoint Management Assistant: Remote Management Demo

I just got a Optiplex 7020 MFF (USFF) but cannot get vPRO to work
I cannot get past the BIOS/UEFI part from enable AMT.
I’ve configurate the 1st step: enable AMT but cannot find where configure IP / password. When I try to get admin password configurated it just do not allow me to save! :frowning:
Maybe this is the problem: without password cannot configure AMT…

BTW: I’m +3000km away so using other guys hands to configure.

@jdermarasca

I’m not an SME but have you tried using the SDK to help find the answers you’re looking for? Here’s a link to it:
