Yes, Spiceworks is completely and totally free.
If you can access it locally on that computer, then everything with the software is working.
If you cannot access it from another computer, then you have either a hardware and/or software firewall(s) or antivirus/endpoint software that should be configured to allow the connection. It is also possible something on the network, like a VLAN or if you’re trying it from a wireless connection, is segmenting/blocking the connection. Allow the application and ports on the appropriate firewall(s) and make sure there is no other networking reasons for access to be blocked.
Since you are a junior admin, you may need to enlist the assistance of a higher level admin or someone in charge of the network/firewall/etc., to help with opening up the necessary permissions for it to be accessed from another machine.
Do make sure you have permission to run such software on the network by your boss and/or the IT Manager as well, because it does have inventorying functions that will scan the network.
