I am located in Fort Wayne, so the Indy and South Bend groups are a bit of a stretch for me to attend regular meetings.

Anyone meeting in the Fort Wayne area? Anyone want to?

Way to go Mark - you might also want to find out who is the Indiana group admin, or become the group admin - you can send a message to a greater number of people that way and work off of those responses - glad to see you wanting to get involved. We have a great support system for SpiceCorps members and users wanting to start a SpiceCorps. I would also shoot Jen or Ashley a PM and let them know you are interested in starting a group.

No problem - thats how I started, plus I became the Missouri and Kansas group admin so I could contact all of the local users. If no one is the group admin, you can pm Nic and ask him if you could be the group admin. This gives you much better platform to send messages to a “localized” group of people, instead of the whole spiceworks group. Also, a lot of us guys that put put on SpiceCorps meetings talk to each other, I could get you involved in that as well if you are interested - lots of help here!

Here is the Indiana group - Nic is the admin, so if you are interested, I’m sure he would love for you to take over that group, or even share it.

As an example, I am the Watchguard group admin also and I share that with another spiceworks users here - works out great!

Hmm…somehow I feel underqualified to be the group admin!

Do you have to commit a lot of time and/or effort to be the admin? I have a hard enough time keeping up at work! (I’m the entire IT department for a 100+ user organization- most of which are non-techie healthcare professionals).

Not a lot for that type of group - the only time I access the State groups is when I want to send out a message to all of the users. For a technical group, it does take time, you basically need to babysit and make sure there aren’t questions unanswered, and points are given, etc… but for putting together a SpiceCorps group, having Group Admin access will give you more “tools” to get that done. Also, don’t fret about it too much, we are all here to get/give information, you only have to do what you have time to do, so don’t lose any sleep over it!

I’m in Rochester, so about 1 1/4 hours from Ft. Wayne. I could definitely make a monthly.

Don’t give up Mark, a lot of people may not check their SW email very often, and you may want to go outside of the this forum to promote it. I’m not sure who manages the water cooler now, but tell them you want to post this meeting in the water cooler for a day so more people see it (so it doesn’t get moved)- you may get more responses!

Great! Well, at least we have a few people interested!

I’ll see if I can find some time to organize a meeting (as if I have any clue how to run the meeting or what topics to talk about!)

Has this group started yet, if so I would like to possibly be involved as we are testing and thinking about implementing Spiceworks withint our organization.

Sorry- I’ve been swamped and never got the ball rolling on this.

I also can’t remember what I need to do to officially “form” the group. I might have to read up and/or ask a moderator.

Ah- here it is. I guess we need to meet and that will kick things off.

Let me check my calendar and then I’ll post here as to when and where- I think they’ll let me use the conference room here to host a meeting (I just need to ask).
