I may have simply missed something, but I want to track IT purchases with spiceworks. How can I create an email alert to track the different steps in the purchase process?

{"@type":"Person
{"@type":"Answer

Hi petermacdd,

If you create the purchase on a ticket (or edit an existing purchase in the purchase list to attach it to a ticket), then as the purchase progresses through each step in the process (approved, purchased, received), there will be a comment added to that ticket, which will in turn email the ticket’s creator, and those CC’ed to the ticket.

Please let us know if you have any questions.

Thanks,

Thank You!

I found the purchase link on the ticket window. I just missed seeing the link (a small green tag icon).

{"@type":"Person
petermacdonald1495
https://community.spiceworks.com/u/petermacdonald1495"}},{"@type":"Answer

if you have not setup a ticket for this, is there any other way to get an alert?

{"@type":"Person
busbey
https://community.spiceworks.com/u/busbey"}},{"@type":"Answer

Hi Tha5150,

We currently use tickets for all purchase notifications.

If you don’t have a ticket setup for a purchase, you could:

Create a new ticket (you could even reuse the same ticket for any future notifications).

Open that purchase in the purchase list (click the “edit details” link)

Choose the ticket in the box on the right side of the details.

Any changes you make for that purchase should get emailed to whoever you CC on that ticket.
